Jeanine Wins! But I Still Feel Lost.

No shocker here. As I predicted, Jeanine Mason took home the title of "America's Favorite Dancer" last night. Whatever that means. I know. I know. I sound like a negative nelly. (Well now I'm just sounding like an 80-year-old woman.) But come on people. Was this really a surprise given Jeanine's infectious smile? Her perfect bouncy curls? And her heart-melting personality? (Okay. Now I just sound like a lesbian.) But Jeanine really was a clear favorite (to me at least mid-season) considering her competitors were ... well, um, what's the word I'm looking for here, ... blah? Yeah. Blah will do.

And then I see these previews for another SYTYCD season already comin' at me next month?!!? (Yeah, I'll watch. But with my arms folded.)

Only to find out today that indeed we will be Paula Abdul-less next Idol?!?! (Yeah, her "thoughts may have tumbled in her head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free" ... but I really enjoyed her, dammit!)

So I ask you ... HAS THE WORLD GONE COMPLETELY MAD?!?!?!?! Or is this still that long-running game of torment the world is playing on little ol' me ever since Kris Allen beat out my Adam? (Yes, I still own him.)

But I digress.

The Results Are In: SYTYCD Ultimately Flops

Well in case you were wondering, So You Think You Can Dance has NOT moved me. It has NOT, unfortunately, filled the big shoes Idol left behind, and it has obviously NOT inspired me to post on it. In fact, it is somewhat grating on my nerves. I just can't quite seem to figure out why.


Is it because of the crying judges who act like a Tyce Oreo routine is the most amazing thing they have ever seen? Is it because Cat Deely just ain't no Ryan Seacrest? (Boy. I never thought I would be longing for more Seacrest.) Perhaps it is because someone there decided it would be a good idea to showcase the incredible singing and dancing stylings of Katie Holmes. Or, is it because of the complete void of personality in this year's contestants? (Ade anyone?) Now I'm going to spring a guess and say that Jeanine is the sole dancer left leaping. She is the only one who sprouts any semblance of likability, after all. Ah well guys ... we tried.


It may be too late to cancel my Hot Tamale membership, but is it too early to start counting down the days 'til Idol Season 9? Surely not, I say.
