My Letter to Kris Allen

Dear Kris:

I just wanted to write this letter because after tonight, I may never see you again. If America got it right last night, I will. But I'm not banking on it.

You did not deserve to be thrown under the bus by those Idol judges last night. Keep in mind that they were just supporting the pre-ordained Gokey. (I will not even get into THAT rant again, because this letter is about you.)

You've come a long way kid. And I ain't talkin' about just those looks of yours. Who knew from that day long ago, when you came into my life, singing "Man In The Mirror," you'd be here now -- in the Top 4? You were certainly the underdog, and I am proud to say you really have come into your own.

I will be watching you tonight with bated breath. And please know, if it's you who goes home, instead of that Danny, there will be a silent tear, falling down a little cheek, in a little apartment, somewhere in the South. You didn't deserve such abuse last night. And anytime you need a break from little wifey, I will be your shoulder to cry on. Yes, in fact, just come home. Momma's waiting.

With love, understanding, and a warm pillow to rest your wearied little head,
Elizabeth

    First of all, nice letter.

Second, I won't be too fast in predicting he'd go, because 3 prediction sites have 3 different people in the bottom. the Z one had Kris, The V one had Danny, and the I one had Allison.

For all you know, Kris might be safe tonight.

If this show's Contestants staying in are based like they should be by America voting on their singing ability and it be between Danny and Kris, I totally agree with you that Kris should be the one to remain.

Well I like Kris the best. That being said, I believe that Adam and Danny seem to be the chosen ones.

Kris' song was one of the most original of the night. What was up with those judges talking to him like that, especially Simon with his ice comment. The only thing icy there was Simon's heart from the ice running through his veins. While I never would've predicted it till now, I think it's Danny who might be the big-shock elimination this season. His vocal cords sound like they need a rest anyway. Too bad about his song choice last night when he could've wowed the crowd with something softer.

  7. Kris is the kind of contestant whose journey I love watching. He came in as the underdog, stayed on, kinda in the background most of the time, and before you know it, he learned how to blossom. Remember 'Summertime'? Remember 'The Way You Look Tonight'? It's like AI helped him develop as a singer, really come into his own bit by bit, and we were all there to see it happen.

We didn't see him go on elimination night. But I'd still have sacrificed him, if only Allison could stay :(

Hey, I loved your letter. So heartfelt, and true. We'll see what happens tonight. Maybe we'll all get a pleasant surprise and Danny will leave us. I won't be surprised if Kris ends up going, but I WILL be upset. Especially if I have to look at Danny's smug smiling face again when he is deemed "safe." I guess we'll have to suffer through watching him get stomped by Adam in the final showdown. Kris IS THE BEST, and he will have an incredible musical career ahead of him.

American Idol Inspirational Song Night: Crystal Bowersox Cries. I Finally Feel Something. (Recap)

Considering I kept busy on my computer all the while Idol played out tonight on my TV screen, only giving the occasional glance up to notice that Lee Dewyze got his hairs cut, Kara got her hairs styled in a flattering manner that I can't quite put my finger on as to why they were so flattering and Simon's buzz cut looked especially unflattering ... I guess you could say it was all one big unnoticeable snooze fest until Crystal "Mamasox" Bowersox took the stage. So really, all I care about commenting on is her for now.

Wicked Mic Stands and Wet Eyes: Now I don't know if Crystal got overly wrapped up in the spirit of today's date, but someone should have told her pot paraphernalia is not allowed on the Idol stage. Oh, I keed. I keed. Crystal's extraordinary mic stand was made from an old lamp with which she always used to perform in her pre-Idol days. Could that sentimentality be what brought on her sudden outburst of tears at the end of her emotional "…

American Idol: Rat Pack Night "Sways" My Opinions

Well our Top 5 performed the Rat Pack Standards last night, and when it was all said and done, I must say . . . I felt a little swayed. I have to use the word "swayed," first of all, because it's my clever pun on a popular song during the Rat Pack era; and secondly, because the night didn't make me into a full-blown convert -- it simply swayed me, like a gentle yet confused little branch blowing in the wind, unsure if it wants to waver on back to the safe side of "Adam & Simon," or dare to venture and possibly snap on over to the unfamiliar side of "Danny & Kara."

Sway Factor #1: Jamie Foxx is a rockin' mentor! Who ever would have thought that Mr. Foxx would mentor Rat Pack night?! Turns out, he did a kick ass job! Getting all up in Danny Gokey's grill, refusing to let "D" (nickname compliments of Mr. Foxx) detour from his emotions. Channeling "Field of Dreams" and telling Matt Giraud, "if you change the ke…

American Idol Top 9 Perform: Casey James, BagPipes and Didgeridoos Make For One Good Night! (Recap)

Well hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog, folks, do we finally have a competition on our hands?  Maybe I am just a little excited about my tax refund or am perhaps silly over this ga-or-geous weather we are having, but dare I say, that in last night's Idol, I saw shades of Idol season 8!?!  Yes, from the humorous moments (one word: bagpipe) to some mad awesome vocals (two words: Casey James), I finally recognized a competitive momentum taking place, which left no alternative but to bring me to a rolling boil of excitement!

I will break it down with the highlights of the night:

These Intro Packages Are Workin' For Me!:  Question for you, Mr. Idol Producer:  Why couldn't we have used these endearing little intro packages wherein Idols comment on other Idols, showing us the viewer some real personality, earlier?  I mean, how much did I love learning that Lee Dewyze and Andrew Garcia have been in a bro-mance since Hollywood Week?!  It brought me back to the big bro/lil sis days o…
